And I'm Still Searching

Soooo life has turned me a bit....bitter would be the best word I guess. The other day my mother suggested something that made a lot of sense. (I know!!! Crazy, right?!) I'm gonna start giving my time and attention to those who give theirs. One person in particular has been trying to get close to me for a while... I think it's about time I let him.

Familiar Pain

Over 6 years ago a storm named Katrina changed my world. I sat safely in Texas and watched everything I was familiar with slowly be drowned by the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. My family and the people of New Orleans had about a weeks warning that the storm was coming, but that didn't make it any easier to save the people and things we loved. I've never had to live through an earthquake. I don't know what one feels like. What I do know is a fear of water, of storms.
Those that are victims (yes victims) of natural disasters are constantly in my thoughts. The very thought of that storm coming with only minutes of warning. Massive flooding and water moving with a mind of it's own is what these people had to deal with. I have no idea how these people felt in the moment, but I know the pain and uncertainty afterwards. My prayers are with the people of Japan and I encourage you to do the same. Prayers, positive energy, and whatever charity you can provide, from experience I know it'll be appreciated.
